VANCE WEEKS
SENIOR PASTOR
Pastor Vance came to Mt. Zion in January 2023. Pastor Vance received his education at Malone University (BA in Bible and Theology) and Asbury Theological Seminary (MA in Christian Education). He married his lovely wife Amanda in 2003 and they have two children, Wesley and Zebulon. He enjoys cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, and Cleveland Cavaliers, reading non-fiction, coaching his sons in baseball, and watching movies with his wife.

OUR BELIEFS
THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, inerrant, eternal, infallible and authoritative Word of God.
THE TRINITY
We believe in one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each has distinct personality, responsibility and function, but they are equally perfect and divine.

GOD THE FATHER
We believe the Father is the ultimate source of all things, who calls people to become His sons and daughters through spiritual birth by faith in His Son, Jesus. We believe He forgives the sins of those who trust in Christ, and that He hears and answers prayers.

GOD THE SON
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, who is fully God and fully man. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His substitutionary death, His bodily resurrection, His bodily ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His future bodily return in power and glory.

We believe that His role since Pentecost is to reveal Christ, to convict the world of sin, righteousness and future judgment, and to be the Restrainer of the evil one. We believe that the Holy Spirit regenerates and indwells all believers, preserving them in Christ for eternity, and empowering them for service and godly living. We believe He produces spiritual fruit, bestows spiritual gifts for service, and teaches us all things pertaining to Christ.

We believe salvation is offered to sinful man through the shed blood and redemptive work of Christ. It is received by grace, through faith, and without human merit or achievement. We believe that repentance and a personal trust in Christ are required for salvation, and that once this gift is received by faith a Christian is eternally secured as a child of God.

OUR VALUES
WE VALUE BEING A BIBLICAL CHURCH
We will use the Bible as our textbook and foundation for preaching, teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that disciples will not only know His Word, but do what it says.
WE VALUE BEING A GREAT COMMANDMENT CHURCH
We will love the Lord with all our hearts, souls, minds and strength, and love our neighbors as ourselves by pursuing relationships with God and others.
WE VALUE BEING A GREAT COMMISSION CHURCH
We will be witnesses to all people we encounter, teaching them through word and deed to obey the commands of Jesus Christ.
WE VALUE BEING AN EQUIPPING CHURCH
We will provide Bible-centered training to equip believers to do works of service and to share their faith in a confident and bold manner.
WE VALUE BEING A PRAYING CHURCH
We will pray to God individually and corporately, seeking His will in all situations with praise, thanksgiving, and petitions.
WE VALUE BEING A SPIRIT-EMPOWERED CHURCH
We will expect the Holy Spirit to give each believer gifts as He chooses to be used to bring unity to the Body of Christ.
WE VALUE BEING A SERVING CHURCH
We will teach our congregants to give sacrificially of their time, money and service to minister to both believers and non-believers.
