BIBLE STUDIES & SMALL GROUPS

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL STUDY: THE BOOK OF JUDGES
When: Sundays, 9:00 AM – 9:50 AM
Where: Mt. Zion Chapel

Join Mt. Zion’s Adult Sunday School class for this study, as pastor and author J.D. Greear wades into the book of Judges to shine a light onto the muddy waters of human rebellion. The stories and truths within are not just archaic tales with no relevance for us today. Rather, J.D. works through each chapter unpacking the truth of God’s grace in the midst of human wickedness, and shows how only the divine can redeem the fallen.

Be sure to bring your Bible as we explore this unique Old Testament book together.

MINISTRY GROUPS

YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY
Mt. Zion’s Young Adult Ministry is a place where college students and 20-somethings can share Jesus, grow, and serve together. Our next gathering will be Sunday, August 22. Join us for food and fun. Please email mtzyoungadults@mountzionchurch.org for more details, including the start time and address of where we will meet.

WOMEN’S BOOK CLUB
When: Thursday, August 5, 6:00 PM
Where: Mt. Zion Church

The Women’s Book Club is for those who love to curl up with a good book and who would enjoy discussing what they’ve read with others. This is a great way to get to know other ladies who share the love of reading. All we ask is that each participant read the book selection for the month and then join us for lively discussion on the first Thursday of the month.

The August Book of the Month is “Through Gates of Splendor” by Elisabeth Elliot.

To help support their mission, we will be working on quilt tops and LuoPads that will be given to the Unto Distribution Center. This is a drop-in activity, so come at whatever time works for you. Bring lunch if you can stay the entire time. Items you might bring: rotary cutter, cutting board, scissors, portable sewing machine, pins, gallon Ziploc bags.

TRAVELING TEA PARTY
The purpose of the Traveling Tea Party is to show our shut-ins, lonely members, or those unable to attend for a season, the love of God! Participants will receive training to learn more about this wonderful, easy ministry opportunity. You will bring joy to others as your own heart is blessed! Contact the Church Office (426.0814) for info on how you can be a part of this ministry.
